Overview

The KAAS Cargo Air Shower is designed to reduce loose dust and particulate contamination carried by trolleys, carts, pallets, equipment and packaged materials before they enter a cleanroom or controlled production area.

The system uses high-velocity, HEPA-filtered air jets to remove loose particles from material surfaces while the interlocked door arrangement helps maintain separation between clean and non-clean zones.

Two primary configurations are available:

  • Fast Shutter Door Cargo Air Shower
  • Automatic Sliding Door Cargo Air Shower

The fast shutter door configuration is suitable for frequent and high-throughput material movement, while the automatic sliding door version provides a rigid door structure, good visibility and smooth operation for cleanroom corridors and production areas. The catalogue shows both versions with 24 nozzles, two HEPA filters, two G4 pre-filters and adjustable shower time from 0 to 99 seconds.

How the Cargo Air Shower Works

  1. The trolley, pallet or material load enters the chamber.

  2. The entry door closes and the door interlock is activated.

  3. The blower draws air through the G4 pre-filters and HEPA filters.

  4. High-velocity filtered air is discharged through stainless-steel nozzles.

  5. Loose particles are removed from the trolley, pallet or material surface.

  6. Return air is recirculated through the filtration system.

  7. After the programmed shower cycle is completed, the clean-side door is released.

Particle Removal

The air shower is designed to remove loose surface particles. It does not replace washing, wiping, sanitising or validated decontamination.

The catalogue states filtration performance above 99.99% at 0.3 μm. The exact HEPA grade should be confirmed in the final KAAS quotation.
